What is Hula Moments?

Hula Moments provide a space to enjoy hula from where ever you are. It's about getting together to create wondrous moments that only hula can bring.

As we sway to the melodies of Hawai`i, we can't help to think about being in the Hawaiian Islands. We visualize the beaches and the tropical breeze sending fragrances of flower blossoms. Hula provides a venue for us to relive these kinds of moments. These are Hula Moments that can bring a smile to our heart, warmth to our eyes and gentleness to our thoughts.

As we move through our sessions of Hula Moments, we'll strengthen recall skills and coordination proficiency. We'll move our bodies to the timing of the music or chants. Imagine how many 'steps' we take each time we hula!

By way of Zoom, you can enjoy learning about the art of hula from where ever you are. Each month a different hula will be shared by Kumu Kaipo with members of Hula Moments. Every month a weekly video recording consisting of 1-2 verses of the song will be released for 3 weeks in a row. A live, online, session will be held on the 4th Saturday of each month from 2:00 pm 3:00 pm (Central Time). This will be a perfect time to review the dance 'live' with Kumu Kaipo. And a great opportunity to ask Kumu Kaipo questions about the dance and hula.
